What Does A CDL Medical Exam Include?
At the start of a CDL Medical exam, the
medical examiner will fill out a medical health history form and will
ask you questions regarding your medical history. You'll be asked
to provide the following health information:
Medications you are having or have had before.
Procedures and treatments you are having or have had before.
Symptoms or medical conditions you are currently experiencing
A full physical examination will be performed, which includes the following:
Hearing
Vision
Blood pressure
Urinalysis and other diagnostic tests
Urinalysis will be performed, if requested by the
employer, to reveal blood sugar levels and other health indications.
Urinalysis can also be used for drug tests. Blood may be drawn, and
additional in-office diagnostics, such as an electrocardiogram, may be
performed if needed.
During a CDL Medical, the doctor will check your vision, hearing, blood pressure, and overall physicality. They will also take a urine sample to check for medical issues that may prevent you from driving safely.
How to prepare for a CDL Medical?
