HPV vaccine and Gardasil 9 in NYC

Gardasil 9 is FDA-approved for people ages 9 through 45. CDC recommends routine HPV vaccination at ages 11 or 12, allows a start at age 9, and recommends catch-up vaccination through age 26. Some adults ages 27 through 45 may choose vaccination after a clinician discussion. The vaccine prevents new HPV infections; it does not treat an infection or HPV-related disease that is already present.

Gardasil 9 HPV vaccination Booking begins with vaccine review. Product inventory, age and indication eligibility, certification, and site capability must be confirmed.

The short answer

Eligibility and timing

The clinician applies current guidance to the person, prior doses, and purpose of vaccination.

Who may qualify

  • Routine vaccination is recommended at ages 11 or 12 and can begin at age 9.
  • Catch-up vaccination is recommended through age 26 when the series is incomplete.
  • For ages 27 through 45, the decision is individualized rather than a routine recommendation.
  • HPV testing is not required to decide whether to vaccinate, but vaccination does not replace cervical screening.

Schedule and timing

  • Most people who start before age 15 receive two doses 6 to 12 months apart.
  • People who start at age 15 or older usually receive three doses at 0, 1 to 2, and 6 months.
  • Immunocompromised people ages 9 through 26 generally receive a three-dose series.
  • CDC advises delaying remaining HPV vaccine doses until after pregnancy; pregnancy testing is not required first.

What happens at the visit

Book a vaccine review

Choose the general vaccine appointment. Booking starts a clinical review and does not reserve a product.

Bring records and details

Bring dose dates, product names, allergies, medicines, prior reactions, and an itinerary when travel is relevant.

Confirm eligibility and access

The clinician confirms the current indication, timing, product, inventory, certification, and site capability.

Plan the next dose

If vaccination is appropriate and available, the care team documents the dose and explains follow-up or series timing.

When to pause the visit or get urgent help

Tell the clinician about a severe allergy after an earlier HPV vaccine dose or to a vaccine component, current pregnancy, moderate or severe illness, and any prior fainting after shots. Soreness, redness, headache, or brief fever can occur. Call 911 for trouble breathing, facial or throat swelling, widespread hives, collapse, or another sign of a severe allergic reaction.

Cost, records, and access

Insurance and cost

Coverage depends on age, plan rules, network status, and the visit setting. Ask the insurer about HPV vaccine benefits and any cost sharing. Nao Medical must confirm the expected charge, product inventory, and clinic capability before vaccination.

Verified access

The cards below identify vaccine-review starting points only. They do not show live Gardasil 9 stock. The care team must confirm age and indication, the required dose, inventory, and the site that can administer and document the vaccine.

Frequently asked questions

CDC recommends routine vaccination at ages 11 or 12, allows vaccination to start at age 9, and recommends catch-up vaccination through age 26 when needed.
Yes, some can. CDC uses shared clinical decision-making for this age group because expected benefit varies with prior exposure and future risk.
Most people who start before age 15 need two doses. People who start at age 15 or older and some immunocompromised people need three doses.
No. HPV testing is not required to decide whether to vaccinate. The vaccine prevents new infections and does not treat an infection already present.
CDC recommends delaying HPV vaccination until after pregnancy. If a dose was given before pregnancy was known, discuss the remaining schedule with the clinician.
No. People who need cervical screening should continue it according to current screening guidance even after vaccination.
It can often be given during the same visit at a different injection site. The clinician checks the full vaccine plan first.
Do not assume all-clinic stock. Book a vaccine review or call so the care team can confirm product availability, eligibility, and the right clinic.
