Compare the learning environment
For a new PA, the first job is a place to build routines in assessment, documentation and communication. Ask how the team supports questions and how you receive feedback. The availability of supervision and consultation matters on the actual shift.
Look closely at patient ages, the pace of work and the procedures expected. A first role should make its starting expectations clear rather than relying on the phrase “new graduates welcome.”
Explore more than an episodic visit
Urgent care can offer experience with same-day problems and decisions about escalation. Primary care shows you what happens over time: prevention, follow-up, results and a continuing relationship with the patient.
Nao Medical brings these services into one organization. Its graduate program is designed for hands-on learning in an urgent care, primary care and multispecialty environment. Ask how that mix applies to the available training site.
Understand the three-month program
Nao Medical’s PA/NP graduate program is a three-month intensive educational pathway with mentoring and hands-on work. It is a separate proposition from a standard orientation for an experienced PA.
Confirm the clinical coverage, schedule, progress review and assignment after training. The program is not a new PA degree, a physician residency or a promised accredited specialty fellowship.
Review supervision and employment terms
Ask how the supervising physician relationship works and who is available for consultation. Review how the team handles a case beyond your competence or the clinic’s resources.
- What duties are expected in the first weeks?
- Who mentors you and provides feedback?
- Which certifications and New York license steps are required?
- What compensation applies during and after training?
- What employment commitment or repayment terms need review?
Make the application relevant
Include graduation, certification and New York license status. Describe the clinical rotations and interests relevant to outpatient work without presenting student experience as independent practice.
Apply through the current openings system. Tell recruiting that you are seeking a supported graduate pathway, and ask which cohort and site match your timeline. Use the fellowship comparison guide if you are deciding between employer training and a longer postgraduate program.
Common questions
Is every PA vacancy open to new graduates?
No. Read the individual role for experience requirements and confirm whether a graduate placement is available.
How long is Nao Medical’s graduate training?
The PA/NP graduate program is three months. Site, schedule, mentoring, compensation and employment terms need confirmation.
Does this training replace New York PA licensing?
No. PA licensure and certification requirements remain separate from employer training.
