A program built around the transition to practice
Your first months as a PA or NP shape how you approach patients, clinical uncertainty and teamwork. Nao Medical’s three-month graduate program offers an intensive educational start with mentoring and hands-on work in an urgent care, primary care and multispecialty environment.
The program is designed for eligible graduate PAs and NPs who want support as they put their education into practice. It is an employer training program, not an additional professional degree, a physician residency or a claim of accredited specialty fellowship status.
Learn beyond the single urgent visit
An urgent care encounter can build confidence in assessment, communication and the decision about what should happen next. Primary care adds the perspective of prevention, follow-up and the patient’s longer-term needs. A multispecialty environment can help you understand when another clinician’s expertise belongs in the plan.
For a new clinician, seeing these connections matters. A patient’s immediate concern is part of a larger clinical history. Ask how the training assignment gives you exposure to that relationship and how the mentoring clinician helps you review your decisions.
Mentoring should be concrete
Hands-on learning works best when you know whom to ask and how feedback is delivered. Discuss the supervising or mentoring arrangements for your actual site. Ask how the team decides which duties you are ready to perform and when you should seek consultation.
Recruiting and the training team can explain the current schedule, case mix, teaching sessions and clinical coverage for your proposed site. Discuss the rotations that are available for your qualification and cohort.
Confirm that the program fits your credential
A PA and an NP enter practice through different licensure and certification routes. For NPs, the population and specialty preparation also matter. The program must fit your training and the assignment’s patient population.
Specialty graduate opportunities need suitable supervision. Psychiatric NP and dedicated pediatric NP pathways are not automatically included in the general program. Ask directly about the available role and mentoring capacity for your certification.
Questions to resolve before committing
Ask for a written description of the training and employment terms. That lets you compare the program with a standard orientation, a longer postgraduate fellowship or another first job.
- Who is eligible, and which cohorts and sites currently have capacity?
- Who mentors you, and what consultation is available during clinical work?
- What are the training schedule and the plan after the three months?
- What compensation applies during training and after it?
- Is there an employment commitment or repayment provision to review?
- How are feedback, progress and readiness for the next assignment assessed?
Prepare an application that explains your goals
Include your resume, graduation date, PA or NP qualification, certification and license status. Describe the clinical work you want to develop and why the combination of urgent care and ongoing care interests you.
Use Nao Medical’s current openings system and look for an appropriate graduate opportunity. If the listing does not clearly identify the program, ask recruiting about the pathway before treating it as a graduate placement. Cohort dates, locations, pay and commitments depend on the actual offer.
Why explore Nao Medical
Nao Medical offers an outpatient environment that brings urgent care, primary care and specialty services together. For a graduate clinician, this gives you a setting in which to investigate both the immediate visit and the continuing care around it.
The program’s purpose is to support a thoughtful start, with intensive education and hands-on learning. The best next step is a conversation about your training, the clinical assignment and the support you will receive. Use the PA and NP graduate guides to prepare for that discussion.
Common questions
How long is the program?
Nao Medical’s graduate PA/NP program is three months. Recruiting will confirm the current cohort, schedule, site and employment terms.
Is this an accredited residency or fellowship?
It is described here as an employer graduate training program. No separate accreditation, degree, physician residency or specialty fellowship status is claimed.
Are psychiatric and pediatric NP graduate tracks included?
Do not assume a dedicated specialty track. Eligibility and specialty training depend on the appropriate clinical supervision and current capacity.
What is the pay during and after training?
Review the current vacancy and ask recruiting for the written compensation for each stage. A general program guide does not establish a universal salary or contract.
