Insurance options for primary care

Nao Medical’s primary care clinics work with a range of public and commercial insurance plans. Use the plan information below to prepare for verification. A listed insurer does not mean every product or every provider is in network.

Medicare

Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage have different provider access rules. For an Advantage plan, check that plan’s network and referral requirements.

Fidelis Care

Use the full product and network name on your card when verifying a primary care appointment.

MetroPlusHealth

Confirm the plan product, PCP assignment, and the location where you intend to receive care.

UnitedHealthcare

Use the specific network listed on your card; a brand name alone does not establish primary care participation.

Aetna

Ask about the exact network, provider participation, and the cost-sharing that applies to the planned visit.

Cigna

Check your network and primary care benefits, including whether you need to name a PCP.

EmblemHealth

Confirm the plan and network on your card before choosing a clinician or clinic.

Blue Cross Blue Shield

Identify the issuing company and network on your card. Plans under the Blue Cross Blue Shield name can have different provider arrangements.

1199

Confirm your benefit fund and plan, the provider’s participation, and any visit or referral requirements.

Verify four details before you book

  1. Your exact plan: use the product and network name printed on your card.
  2. Your clinician and clinic: confirm participation for a primary care visit at that location.
  3. Your PCP assignment: ask whether a selection, change, or referral is required.
  4. Your expected costs: ask about the visit and any separate labs, tests, or vaccines.

Choose the visit that fits your need

Establish primary care

Review your health history, medicines, and a plan for routine follow-up.

Preventive care

Discuss checkups, screenings, vaccines, and health goals appropriate for you.

Ongoing or new concerns

Arrange follow-up for a chronic condition or discuss a new non-emergency health concern.

Questions before your visit

Does Nao Medical accept my insurance?
Nao Medical lists Medicaid, Medicare, Healthfirst, Fidelis, MetroPlus, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, EmblemHealth, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and 1199 among its primary care insurance options. Participation depends on the exact plan, provider, location, and visit. Call with your card before booking.
Does an insurer’s name mean every plan is accepted?
No. A company can offer multiple networks and plan products. Check the plan name on your card and confirm that the clinician and clinic participate for primary care.
Do I need to select a primary care provider?
Some plans require you to choose or be assigned a PCP. Ask your plan whether an assignment or change is needed and when it takes effect.
Will my annual visit and tests be covered?
Coverage depends on your benefits, the services provided, and billing requirements. Ask about preventive benefits, separate problem-focused care, lab network rules, copays, coinsurance, and any deductible.
What should I bring?
Bring a photo ID, insurance card, medication list, and relevant outside records. Have your plan’s member-services number available if benefits or PCP assignment need clarification.
Can I book without insurance?
Self-pay options are available. Ask the team for the expected visit charge and whether labs, tests, vaccines, or other services would be separate.
