Arranging your appointment
Call before traveling and name the exact service and location. Confirm the appointment, provider, records, tests, and medicine arrangements. A general walk-in visit does not guarantee a prescription, administration, specialist treatment, or a dietitian appointment that day.
Obesity and sleep apnea
Obesity and obstructive sleep apnea often occur together, but sleep apnea needs a proper diagnosis. Weight care can be part of treatment. Zepbound is approved for moderate-to-severe OSA in adults with obesity, alongside nutrition and activity changes.
How obesity and sleep apnea works
OSA involves repeated upper-airway obstruction during sleep. Weight can affect obstruction, but it is not the only factor. Weight treatment does not automatically remove the need for CPAP or other sleep-apnea care.
Eligibility: Obesity and sleep apnea
A sleep study and clinical review establish OSA and severity. Snoring alone does not qualify someone for Zepbound’s OSA indication. The medicine’s suitability, sleep treatment, and insurance requirements need separate review.
What to expect: Obesity and sleep apnea
Bring sleep-study results and the current sleep-treatment plan. Review BMI, daytime symptoms, metabolic risks, and medicine safety. Discuss weight care with the prescribing team and ongoing PAP treatment with the sleep clinician. Confirm who will arrange tests and review response.
Preparing for your appointment
Bring the sleep report with severity measures, CPAP or other treatment details, weight and medical history, medicines, and insurance requirements. Mention sleepiness while driving.
Risks and when to seek help
Review a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer, MEN 2, severe stomach-emptying problems, pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, allergies, and pregnancy plans before treatment. Nausea, vomiting, constipation, or diarrhea can occur. Persistent severe abdominal pain or inability to keep fluids down needs emergency department assessment now. Call 911 for breathing difficulty, a severe allergic reaction, loss of consciousness or unsafe travel. Tell the anesthesia team about treatment before a procedure. Do not combine GLP-1 medicines or change the dose yourself. Avoid driving when dangerously sleepy. Call 911 for new severe breathlessness. Other new acute symptoms need prompt medical assessment. No amount of weight loss guarantees that OSA will be cured.
Follow-up and treatment review
Review symptoms, weight, medicine tolerance, and sleep-treatment adherence. The sleep clinician decides when testing or treatment changes are appropriate. Do not stop CPAP because you started Zepbound or lost weight.
Appointments, costs and coverage
Confirm the exact service, clinician, formulation, appointment, and refill route before booking. The evaluation, tests, medicine, administration, and follow-up may have separate costs and benefits. Ask for current estimates and required records. An FDA-approved drug or a clinic address does not establish pharmacy stock, onsite treatment, coverage, or a prescription. If access changes, contact the treating team before interrupting treatment.

Questions about your care
Where is Nao Medical Long Island City?
Confirm the current address, hours, and appointment arrangements with Nao Medical before traveling. Mention the specific location and obesity and obstructive sleep apnea often occur together, but sleep apnea needs a proper diagnosis. Ask whether records, tests, prescription review, training, or administration must be arranged ahead of time.
Can I walk in for obesity and obstructive sleep apnea care?
Call before traveling to confirm the exact service and appointment. An evaluation may require records, tests, or a later treatment decision. A general walk-in appointment does not guarantee medication, an injection, or specialist care that day. Bring the sleep report with severity measures, CPAP or other treatment details, weight and medical history, medicines, and insurance requirements. Mention sleepiness while driving.
Can I bring records from another clinician?
Bring the sleep report with severity measures, CPAP or other treatment details, weight and medical history, medicines, and insurance requirements. Mention sleepiness while driving.
Can I get Zepbound for snoring without a sleep study?
Snoring alone does not establish moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea. Bring a diagnostic sleep study and severity information. The clinician decides whether testing or updated records are needed before considering Zepbound’s OSA indication.
Can I stop CPAP when I start Zepbound?
Keep prescribed CPAP or other sleep-apnea treatment until the sleep clinician reviews it. Starting Zepbound or losing weight does not prove that apnea has resolved. A repeat assessment may be needed before changing treatment.
Is Zepbound the same as Mounjaro or Ozempic?
Zepbound and Mounjaro contain tirzepatide but have different approved indications. Ozempic contains semaglutide. Zepbound’s OSA indication should not be transferred to those other brands.
Can coverage be different when Zepbound is prescribed for sleep apnea?
The visit, laboratory tests, and medicine can have different coverage rules. Ask the plan about the exact brand and indication, exclusions, prior authorization, required records, deductible, copay, and dispensing route. Bring a denial for review of its specific reason. Nao Medical or the prescriber cannot guarantee approval. Confirm current participation and costs before booking.
