YEZTUGO is given as two subcutaneous injections every 6 months after starter dosing. On day 1, the patient receives two oral tablets and two injections in a medical setting. On day 2, two more oral tablets are taken at home. HIV testing is required before starting and before each injection visit.

HIV testing is required before starting Yeztugo and before every subsequent injection. The FDA label calls for a test that can diagnose acute or primary HIV infection. At initiation, a negative antigen/antibody result should be confirmed with an HIV RNA test, even if the RNA result arrives after initiation. Before continuation, a negative rapid antigen/antibody test should be confirmed with a more sensitive assay. Your clinician determines the tests and timing.

YEZTUGO is not a retail-pharmacy medication. Official patient materials say the provider may carry it in office or obtain it another way, such as through a specialty pharmacy, and delivery can take about 30 days once a prescription is ordered.
