What happens if you have a positive HPV Pap smear?

If the HPV test is positive, then you’ll need to get a follow-up test to see if there will be any serious signs of potential cancer in your uterus. Your health care provider will advise you on next steps.

Should I get a Pap smear if I have HPV?

HPV infections can lead to the formation of precancerous cells. A pap test can help to detect these abnormal cells to help you to get the results or treatment you need for better vaginal health.

What is HPV high-risk ThinPrep?

A positive HPV high-risk ThinPrep indicates that you may be infected with one or more HPV genotypes which are associated with cervical cancer.

What is the difference between Pap smear and ThinPrep?

The difference between Pap smear and ThinPrep is the way cells are prepared for evaluation. ThinPrep is more sensitive than the conventional Papanicolaou (Pap) smear at detecting cervical cancer (strength of recommendation).

Is ThinPrep better than Pap smear?

Clinical trials found that the ThinPrep Pap Test is 65% more effective than the Pap smear in detecting cervical cancer and precancerous lesions.

Are your urgent care centers open after hours?

Yes. Most of our urgent care centers are open after hours, making health care more accessible for all residents in NYC.

Should I make an appointment for urgent care?

Not necessarily. Most urgent cares accept walk-in patients. But if you want shorter wait times, you can book an appointment through phone or online.

Can I go to urgent care for non-emergency?

Yes. You can go to urgent care for consultations, physicals, primary care, lab tests, and more.

Can I pay for urgent care appointment without insurance?

If you have no insurance, we provide our services without insurance for self-pay patients, giving you the care when you need it most.
